20 Things ‘Friends’ Taught Us About Life

Friends has been an iconic show since the 90’s and has continued to be one of our favorites in the 2000’s.

There are two types of people in the world, the ones who admit to binge-watching Friends, and those that won’t admit it. At one time or another we’ve all be up watching those late hours of Nick at Nite (or now Netflix, YAY). At first glance, Friends is a hilarious sitcom with lots of innuendos and gut-busting comedy, but when you take a closer look, the show really gets into the nitty gritty of life. Not philosophical stuff or anything, just the things that everyone THINKS about, but may not have the nerve to say out loud.

Like the soap sharing incident. Chanler thought sharing a toothbrush was gross, but sharing soap was okay, because it’s “self-cleaning.” However, Joey told Chandler something that has stuck with both him AND me ever since the words came out of Joey’s mouth. And with that we find out the very first lesson that the show ‘Friends’ taught us about life:

20. ALWAYS rinse the soap bar before you use it! (I don’t need any of your germs from down south on my face!)

19. Best friends WILL get in fights, but in the end they’ll always be there for each other.

18. Adults can still act like second graders. Lets be real, we haven’t matured that much since we left grade school.

17. Men’s refrigerators tend to contain alcohol, condiments, snacks, and expired food. (That brown goo in the jar? He doesn’t know what it is either.)

16. The perfect person for you could be hiding in plain sight. Don’t miss your chance.

15. There is a difference between innocent “Spring Vacation” with your family and party-hard “Spring Break” with college friends.
