15. Johnson Babies
You can always tell when someone is a Johnson baby because they have the word “Freshman” stamped on their foreheads. However, those of us who weren’t lucky enough to live in Johnson as a Freshman secretly wish we had because it is by far the best ResHall, Lakeside is the best dining hall, and Johnson babies always have the most friends because of all the “community enrichment.”
14. Rudy’s and Bev’s= Summer
You go to Rudy’s and Bev’s the day they open even though there are lines all the way to the Daga tennis courts. The lines are worth it, though, because it is one of your favorite beginning-of-summer traditions.
13. Wildlife
There is wildlife all over campus; whether it’s deer by The Village, giant fish in Glimmerglass Lagoon, or foxes and skunks behind Tyler. You hate the geese (and their droppings) but you secretly love the hilarious seagulls (okay, maybe that’s just me). Also, you’ve probably fed a squirrel out of your hand or seen one in the pocket of somebody’s sweatshirt.
12. There is No Happy Medium When it Comes to Temperature
The residence halls are 80 degrees all year round so you always like to have a window cracked. If it is winter, though, you will end up with snow on your bed so you have to leave your window shut and overheat. It also seems like we skip over Fall and Spring and only have about 2 comfortably warm days each year.
11. The Weird Artwork and Vendors
You appreciate, yet are very confused by, the strange sculptures stationed all around campus. Also, you wish the guy who sells stuff under the stairs in Campus Center would choose between vinyls, scarves, jewelry, posters and pottery because it is all very overwhelming.
10. The Longboards
You’ve almost gotten run over by a dude on a longboard and/or you have felt the urge to throw a stick under their wheels because, like the gnats, THEY’RE EVERYWHERE.
