College Student Went To Meet Someone From Craigslist. Then He Got Killed.

James Jones Jr. graduated from Seabreeze High School and was attending Clark Atlanta University.

Investigators said the 21-year-old had responded to a Craigslist ad for an iPhone 6 on Monday. Jones was robbed and fatally shot when he attempted to make the purchase, authorities said.

Three people– 18-year-old Jordan Baker, 19-year-old Jonathon Myles and 21-year-old Kaylnn Ruthenberg — have been arrested and charged with murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault, authorities said.

Police said they found Jones slumped over the steering wheel of his car Monday night.

“This has really turned tragic just for somebody wanting to buy something on the Internet,” said a police representative.

Jones was a junior chemistry major at the university and maintained a 3.0 GPA.

Students said Jones Jr. was well-liked by his classmates, who took to Twitter to mourn his death.
