Sometimes it’s nice to get away from school and seeing family/friends/pets and all the other great things at home, but it’s not all good, which is why we have a love/hate relationship with going back home for breaks.
Love: Seeing family
Hate: Having to remember to use your filter in front of family (something that is rather underused at school)
Love: Cuddling in your own bed
Hate: Going out in public and seeing way too many awful people from high school
Love: Home-cooked meals
Hate: You eat everything in sight; home comes with an endless supply of food
Love: Bonding over college stories with old friends
Hate: People always asking how college is
Love: Working back at your home job and making money
Hate: Working a ton of hours at your home job and hating your life
Love: Showing in your nice shower with actual water pressure and no sandals required
Hate: It can get a little boring, no crazy parties at home
Love: Free laundry
Hate: Having to lug home a lot of stuff and then somehow bring even more back after break
Love: No roommates
Hate: You miss your college friends after like three hours of separation
Love: Plenty of time to unwind and relax
Hate: Realizing you actually have a ton of work due when you get back to classes
Love: Getting to go back to school after a long week
Hate: Having to go back to school after a great week at home
