Halloween: Childhood vs. College (2)

4. The Lights Out Rule

Childhood: Houses without lights on were a no-go for our parents when it came to getting candy from strangers. We always cursed those houses…how dare they not give us free candy!

College: While this rule still applies, we use it more for parties. If the the house doesn’t look LIT then there’s no use going in only to wish we hadn’t.

3. Coat or No Coat?

Childhood: Our parents never let us out of the house without a coat, even if it did ruin our costume. Mine even went so far as to making me wear a long sleeve shirt under my costume one year.

College: While the responsible part of our brain tells us to wear a coat, we never listen. Our costume is cute and needs to be seen by all. After all, beauty is pain.up-next-page
