New Yorker builds igloo in his garden and lists it on Airbnb for $200

The blizzard has hit New York’s tourism industry hard but in certain areas of the city, enterprising locals have been using the snowstorm to set up their own businesses.

One Brooklyn citizen used the vast quantities of powder in his back garden to build an igloo… and then advertised it on Airbnb.

The ‘Boutique winter igloo’ listing offers studio living for up to two people at $200 (£140) a night.

This 'boutique winter igloo' was listed on AirBnB at the weekend after a Brooklyn resident made use of the excessive amounts of snow in his back garden from the blizzard

The tongue-in-cheek description plays up to the building’s natural elements and its handmade craftsmanship.

It reads: ‘Dripping with ingenuity and alt-lifestyle aura lays the Snopocalypse of 2016’s most desirable getaway.

‘Hand-crafted, and built using only natural elements – we’re offering the experience of a life time in this chic dome-style bungalow for you and bae.’

Sadly for any would-be customers, Air BnB has since taken down the listing.
