Dear girls, guys, and anyone confused on this trend,
There seems to be a constant back and forth as to whether girls wear makeup to impress others-specifically guys, verses if they wear it for themselves. Here’s how I see it- it’s both.
For themselves:
I don’t usually wear makeup to school, simply because I don’t want to get up earlier in the morning. Sometimes though, if I put on a nice outfit I’ll take the time to put on some eyeliner and mascara and feel that much better that morning. This can hold true for girls that wear makeup everyday to school too; I’m just not as committed. It just makes the look you’re going for that day complete, thus making you feel complete. It gives you a little boost of confidence you need here and there that Sephora, Mac, or Covergirl is sure to give you. Makeup is a way to experiment with your features through different techniques and find a new appreciation for your beauty. Sure, it covers up those flaws you don’t necessarily appreciate, but it reminds you of what you are even with those pesky imperfections-beautiful.
