On the other hand, I will always put on makeup to go out on the weekend, for a nice dinner, or going a date. Yes, this is to feel good about myself, but also for the other people I will be with. It is to make a better impression, and to seem a little different than my usual self. That is what makeup creates. Your self is still involved here, but it is the fact that others were taken into consideration when making this decision in whether or not to wear makeup. Many people see wearing makeup for others in just a bad connotation, but I do not see it as all bad. Yes, it shows we want to impress other people and it shows that others’ opinions matter, but is that such a terrible thing? It shows that we have people in our lives that we care to show off to. While it is important to do things for ourselves, other people in our lives matter as well, so getting more dressed up for an anniversary or a night out with friends is just another way of expression.
Basically, makeup is its own art form that should be appreciated no matter what reason it is put on for. Stop worrying who that girl put on makeup for today because instead we should focus on how that eyeliner really accentuates her blue eyes, but her eyes are still super gorgeous without that eyeliner too.
