When I think back to five years ago when I was apply for college, I realize just how far I’ve come in my life. Why they let kids make major life decisions at the age of 18, I may never know. But now that I’m a recent grad, the whole application process has me thinking, if I could go back and redo my application essay, what would I say?
Let’s start with what I wouldn’t say, which is basically everything that I submitted. I was applying to Ohio University for journalism, so my tactic was to write something super heartfelt and meaningful. The essay question was something along the lines of tell us why studying journalism is important to you. I wrote about the Holocaust, and I seriously wish that was a joke.
