Ten Things That Make The TCU Football Experience Special (3)

6. The Best Coach In America Works For TCU

Gary Patterson is the winningest coach in program history, has won conference championships in three different leagues (WAC, Mountain West, and Big 12),  has won eight conference championships in his fifteen years at TCU, led TCU to its first BCS bowl win (Rose Bowl, 2011), and turned them into a football powerhouse. In 2011, Sports Illustrated named Patterson the best coach in America. He is synonymous with Fort Worth and the Frogs. On top of him being one of the best college coaches around, he also works as hard as the players on game days. According to one of Patterson’s assistants, he walks about three miles up and down the sideline each week. His hard-working, gritty style fits in with the low-key culture of Fort Worth and the Frogs.

5.  TCU Is The Only Horned Frogs

There are about a million different universities with bulldogs, tigers, or wildcats as their mascot. There is only one school with the horned frog as their mascot: TCU. The fun frog who runs around at the games is named Super Frog because he’s super awesome.
