Things I Learned From My Dad

Things I Learned From My Dad
Some of the best advice you'll ever receive will come from someone who is only looking out for you. Here are some of the things I learned from my dad.

My Dad is no teacher in the classroom, but he has taught me more than any teacher I have ever had. His lessons do not come from textbooks and his words are not plastered up on a powerpoint. He is not that kind of teacher. My Dad is that person that guided me in the right direction, but did not point me towards a certain path. I am who I am today and it is all because of my Dad.

My Dad taught me the value of true hard work and grit. My Dad gave his everything to every assignment he was given, that is probably why he still has job today after 25 years. He taught me to work for everything, nothing in life is handed to you for free, but is rather earned over a course of time. He pushed me past my limits to become the best possible person I could be, and because of that I realized everything I have today it is him to thank for. I would never have gotten accepted to college if it was not for my Dad pushing me in high school.

I learned to not be afraid of failure. I never wanted to disappoint you in anything I did, but you encouraged me to take the risky jumps in life. To my surprise sometimes I surprised myself and would succeed in things I would have never known about if it were not for you to give me the push to do it. You let me make mistakes in order to learn lessons, and when I did fail you did not turn away with disappointment, but instead you were there helping me solve my problem. You let me experience life, failures, but through the whole process you were there.
