University of Pittsburgh Students Sexually Assaulted At Halloween Parties

PITTSBURGH —Two female students at the University of Pittsburgh reported being sexually assaulted at separate Halloween parties off campus.

University police said the first woman reported the assault shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday. She had been at a party in the 3400 block of St. James Place.

The second woman reported being assaulted sometime between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday at a party in the 3300 block of Dawson Street.

As of Monday, Pittsburgh police said they’re still following any leads they can to catch someone.

“Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s that surprising,” said Sara Barnett, a senior.

“I think it’s disturbing that I wasn’t at all surprised,” said Adrienne Ammirati, also a senior. “This kind of thing happens all the time on college campuses. It’s a major problem.” Watch the video below:
