Why I Chose To Go To The University of Cincinnati

Oooohhhh UC!!

The time has come for the graduating class of 2016 to head their separate ways into their desired universities. I 100% know the how stressful it is when picking a college, and some get it their first try, and others not – it’s okay.

I personally came to UC without even touring the campus (crazy I know). I had been down in Cincinnati through multiple moves as my brother attended the university. Every time I came down whether it was for a weekend of fun, or just for brunch, I had a sense of home. That’s what you have to look for in a college because this will become your home.

The University of Cincinnati has given me such a home feeling as I joined greek life, enjoy my classes, and obtained the best memories possible. It’s big enough where I don’t see everyone I graduated high school with, yet small enough where I have the pleasure of seeing familiar faces.

UC has some of the best programs around, as well as giving students real world experience through the co-op program. I highly recommend this because you will be a step above other students as you look for a job once you graduate.

“Cincinnati is ghetto..” Do not believe this at all. I have NEVER in my life ever felt unsafe while attending UC. The police are friendly and night ride is always available if you don’t feel like walking. I have walked on campus and off campus alone and have never had a problem. Now, I don’t recommend walking alone at any university, there’s scary people anywhere you go, but don’t let an area scare you away from a college.

President Ono has done wonders for the University and it will only improve as time goes on. I wish my four years here could be longer, I can’t imagine leaving Cincinnati. Living in the city will give you an experience of a lifetime. There’s so much to do and you will never be bored. Get involved and have fun. You’re about to experience the best four to five years of your life.
