Everyone always says that college is where you make your friends for life. It’s a time when you’re experiencing so many new things all at once and I can honestly say it’s the time when you really start to grow as a person. So, the people you surround yourself with are really so important to building that character.

Sometimes, we lose touch with the people who were once so incredibly important to us. And it’s sad. I remember leaving for school and crying with my friends knowing things would change. But in reality, it can truly be for the better.

The people you’ll meet in college are partners for such a different phase of your life so if you lose touch with some of the people in your life along the way, you may be maturing. These are some of the reasons losing touch might not be the worst thing:

10. Make time to create new friendships and find the people who were always perfect for you.

9. Breaking ties gives you the opportunity to find who you are as an individual.

8. You have a clean slate. All of your baggage from those dumb high school years can finally be lifted for you to start fresh.
