A 23-year-old woman named Alex Lanchester was excitedly anticipating her dream wedding to who she thought was the perfect man, when she received a phone call from her fiancé’s father.
She told The New York Post the voice on the other end informed her of some devastating news. “Alex, this is Tucker’s dad” it said. “There’s no easy way to say this … I am sorry to say that Tucker is dead.”
The father claimed that Tucker was in a deep depression and had committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a car.
Distraught by the news, Lanchester called her fiance’s mother to offer her condolences. Surprisingly, however, the mother had no idea what she was talking about. They both soon realized that the “dad” who called was actually Tucker himself. He had faked his identity because was too afraid to break off the wedding himself.
