10 Signs You’re the Loud One on Your Floor (2)

5. Men: you love to lift weights in your room. It’s nice to workout in the comfort of your own home, that’s totally understandable, but every time you set down a weight you’re making noise. It may not seem that bad, but when you do as many reps as you do, that’s a lot of noise.

4. You stand in the hallway and talk at 2 AM. Whether you’re just getting back from the bar or a party or you and your friends just decided to stay up late, it’s convenient to just stand in the hallway to talk before going into your separate rooms. You may not think you’re being loud, but the sound bounces around the hallway. You know the phrase “get a room”? That applies to this too.

3. You sing at the top of your lungs. We all love to just sing off of the top of our lungs and pretend we’re on stage with a huge audience cheering us on. News flash: you’re not on stage and no one’s cheering. You can totally sing whenever you want to, but maybe you should tone down the dramatics and save it for the actual stage.

2. You listen to everything on full volume. Sometimes you’ll be watching TV and realize that you can’t hear what people are saying so you turn the volume up. Or you’ll be listening to music and your favorite song will come on so you turn it up. Innocent, right? You may not think your TV or music is too loud, but the walls aren’t as thick as you think. Try stepping outside your room while the volume is how you have it set – you’ll realize just how loud it really is from the outside.

1. You make noise just to make noise. Sometimes in order to keep ourselves entertained we make random noises. Whether it’s tapping your fingernails against something, clicking a pen, making a beat with your knuckles on a desk, etc. you probably just do it because you can. Just because you can make noise, doesn’t mean you should.
