10 Struggles Only Miami University Students Understand

My first year on campus at Miami University was an amazing year. As a big transition year, I had a lot of learning to do about how life works when you are in total control of your time, and you don’t have to rely on parents. It was fun going to get dinner twice (which definitely showed at the end of the year) and hanging out with friends whenever I wanted. I loved the entire year. That isn’t to say that there were some rough patches. A lot of things happened that most students across the nation would understand and relate to, but there were quite a few problems that only Miami students would get.

10. Of course, everyone knows the horrible pain of getting food on the weekend on campus. Most dining options are closed for almost the entire weekend, so only dining halls are available and a few places in the student center. While it doesn’t sound that bad, nothing hurts more than craving a sandwich from Delish and settling for chicken tenders from Pulley’s.

9. Most freshmen are housed on MET quad, which is great when it comes to the condition of the dorms. The downside is that they are the furthest halls from the majority of the academic buildings, especially the most popular building, Farmer’s Business School. It may not seem like a big deal now, but wait until winter.
