4. “You’re so pretty for a black girl.” – For a black girl? This goes along the same lines of “I usually would never date a black guy/girl but you’re different.” It’s literally an undercover insult. I know you probably think this is a compliment, but it’s really not. You are basically saying, “You look great for a person a part of an ugly race.”
3. “Is it racist if I…” – If you have to ask and double check, more than likely you shouldn’t do it. There is a fine line between culture appropriation and culture appreciation. Also, we are not the racial police. Learn to decipher what is and isn’t appropriate for yourself.
