She had to brave high school with no blueprint: you had her to give you tips and tricks. While she embarrassed herself trying to figure it out, you had someone to rely on that wanted you to learn from her mistakes.
4. For social connections.
Her friends were more than likely your friends too, and that came in handy on more than one occasion.
3. For brutal honesty.
No one is going to be as upfront with you as your older sister, even if you don’t want to hear what she has to say. Her advice might be unwarranted, but if she thinks you need a dose of reality, she’ll be the first to give it to you before someone that doesn’t love you as much does.

When you friends were sick of you, you always had an older sister to turn to that made you feel a little less alone. Even when you hated her, she was always your built-in best friend.

Face it- you have moments that you would rather have no one besides your sister see. She sees the mean, no-makeup, crying, nasty versions of you, and still loves you anyways.
