10 Types of People You See at the Cafeteria (2)

5. Anti-Plate People

It isn’t a rare occurrence that people don’t use plates at the dining hall. I’ve seen it so often that I am starting to understand it. The plates at the dining hall are so small and they barely hold all of your food…so why not just use the tray? It’s the same affect and they probably (hopefully) get washed as much.

4. People Who Study

It doesn’t matter if you’re getting breakfast, lunch, or dinner there is always someone sitting at a table doing their work. Sometimes, I’ve gone to the dining hall for breakfast and came back for lunch and have seen the same person typing away at their computers. It’s a strange environment to do school work but as long as they’re getting their homework done, that’s good for them.

3. People Who Make The Biggest Mess

When you finally see someone getting up from their spot at the cafeteria, and you jump at the chance to sit down, you notice they’ve left everything on their plate on the table. I understand, no one is a perfect and clean eater, but it couldn’t hurt to clean up after yourself. No one wants to sit at a questionably sticky table.

2. The People Who Take Up Entire Tables

These people are worse than line cutters. They probably don’t even notice how inconsiderate they’re being because they are either studying or too involved in their meal. When the dining hall becomes “lit” and my friends and I are trying to find a table, there are always people taking up 5-person tables when they could be sitting at empty 2-person tables. Unfortunately, these people take up the cafeteria, so it’s seriously impossible to avoid.

1. You See the Same Faces

We all have a schedule. Wake up, get ready, get breakfast at 9:00 am, go to class, do homework, and then it’s already 7:00 pm and you’re starving. Everyday, I see the same people at the dining hall, getting the same food, and sitting in the same area. I see the same familiar faces during the week and I always give a little head nod or half smile to those I recognize. When I see them outside of the dining hall though they look at me like I have three heads when I say hi.
