All dining halls are the same. It doesn’t matter where you go to college, but each cafeteria has the same crappy food and the same group of people crowding around the tables. It is safe to say that there is a universal group of people that you will inevitably run into when you go to dinner.
10. The Line-Cutter
Line-cutters are the worst. If I’ve been standing in a long line just to get a couple of french fries, I would really appreciate people jumping in just to make my wait longer. Line-cutters please be more considerate (I really don’t care if your friend has been saving your spot).
9. The Food Finisher
Watching someone take the last slice of pizza or the last scoop of ice cream is truly heartbreaking. Of course there will probably be more, but who wants to go through the trouble of waiting it out? It’s a heartbreaking time though, because when you have your heart set on pizza, you can’t eat a gross sandwich.
8. The Chicken Nugget Fiend
I’m not sure about other colleges, but at CU Boulder chicken nugget day is a glorious day at the C4C (dining hall). People fill their plates up with hundreds of nuggets and yes, they eat it all.
7. The Nose Picker
When you’re having your breakfast before your 8 ams, everyone is always on their phones and computers doing some last minute work. But as you try to enjoy your meal, you notice that someone is digging for gold. Even though its 30 minutes before your class, you clean up and leave the cafeteria because *poof* your appetite is officially gone.
6. The Cafeteria Workers
Without these people, you would be starving. When they go on breaks, you can see them roaming around the cafeteria grabbing a meal. Often, I end up sitting at a table alone and because it’s so packed they all come and join. They are the nicest people I’ve met at college yet.
