12 Ways Communication(s) Majors are Superior (2)

9. Writing is Second Nature to You
You have hundreds of pages of essays saved in your computer and Google Drive. You have probably written a 30 pager and if you haven’t, you will soon. For you, a 3-5 page paper can be written between classes. This is a blessing and a curse because you can punch out papers like nothing, but all of your friends know who to turn to when they need help writing/editing a paper (and you are always happy to help!)

8. You Can do Anything
No, you can’t fly…close your window. What I mean is that, as a comm major, you can get any job you want. You can work for Jimmy Fallon or you can be a counselor. It is a relatively new major with many different facets. You can basically work your way into any position in any field if you try hard enough. A lot of comm majors don’t have a clear plan for the future because they know all of their options. It’s hard to choose when you have so many great choices!

7. You Have Connections
You know people from every facet of the major. You have friends who are social media moguls, campus television faces and radio voices, journalists, counselors, etc… You’ve also met professionals in these same fields in one way or another. If you go to a lecture on underwater basket-weaving, you ask the lecturer for their email “just in case.” This is the case with any situation if you’re a comm major because you know how important connections are.
