14. Think about getting a job on campus.

If you need money, working on campus can be a great option.  They’re super understanding about working around your school hours, and it’d be a convenient job because you won’t really need to commute anywhere.  There are bound to be openings in offices, food service areas, the fitness center, and other places too.

13. Take some time to just chill.

And I don’t mean time to hang out with your friends.  You need some time just for yourself to unwind and think.  Read a book in a quiet spot on campus, go for a drive, or watch a movie by yourself.  Sometimes in college, it gets pretty old being surrounded by people all the time.

12. Keep things clean.

When teens go off to college for the first time, it’s so much fun not having mom around to nag them that they just become total slobs.  Don’t let this happen.  It’s gross, it’ll make you disorganized, and no one’s going to want to hang out with you because your clothes smell.  This is part of being an adult.

11. Check out activities on campus.

If you feel the itch to get involved, college is a great time to do that.  No matter where you go, there are all kinds of clubs that are always hosting meet-ups and parties and welcoming new members.  Big campuses usually have other fun things going on: movie screenings, mixers, cultural festivals, and whatnot.
