5 People to Leave Behind After High School

Whether you loved every second of high school or cried tears of complete joy on graduation day, there are always parts from your teenage years that you cringe to look back at. There are memories, and sometimes even people, that you couldn’t wait to make chapters of the past. But as you settle into a new life away from home, sometimes cutting ties is easier said than done. Lines start to blur, and you second guess your instincts on who should stay in your life and who shouldn’t. Here are five people that you’re probably better off without.

5.The Ex-boyfriend: Every girl has one, whether you wish you did or not. It doesn’t matter if he did you wrong, something about moving to college and settling into a new life for yourself makes you nostalgic for the past, and he, inevitably, was in it. You might miss him, hope that he calls and drunk cry when he opens your snapchat and doesn’t respond. He might even miss you, calling to tell you how much he can’t wait to see you over Winter break before rehashing every memory the two of you have ever shared. Maybe the two of you are at a stand-off, pretending not to care while you passive aggressively post pictures on Instagram with the guy on the baseball team so that your ex will see it. Regardless, he meant something to you once, even if he doesn’t deserve it. You may not want to admit it to yourself, but he is your ex for a reason, and he’s probably holding you back from a brighter horizon. No matter how hard it is, if you want to move on with your life, press the block button and make out with a guy that has better hair.
