5 Reasons Why Fraternity Rush Is Better Than Sorority Rush (2)

3. The Songs

During their rush events, each sorority has their set of songs. Their hello song, their swag song (why they’re the best sorority), and their goodbye song. While the singing method is a fantastic way to have your sorority stick out in rushees’ minds, it’s actually a little bit obnoxious to force rushees to remember your sorority.

On the flip side, guys just use the tried and true method of having solid, stimulating conversations with their rushees, so that guys remember certain fraternities based on the kind of people they met.

2. The Attire

During sorority rush week, it’s pretty typical to see clumps and clumps of girls running around campus in high heels and sun dresses, melting in the August heat, which sounds like the opposite of fun.

In contrast,  fraternities have no dress code at all during rush. Usually, most guys simply throw on khaki shorts and a polo, but that’s about it. Pretty simple stuff really.

1. The Conversations

Girls conversations are surface-level questions at first. Where are you from? What did you this summer? Once the process nears its conclusion, the questions become more in depth, but a wait is required to reach quality conversation level.

Conversely, guys conversations at rush events are the polar opposite of girls conversations. Males talk about where they’re from, what they value in a fraternity, sports, and what the fraternity stands for. Those conversation are tons more productive because the rushees learn the ins-and-outs of their potential fraternity, and the fraternity learns what type of guy they are potentially adding.

When it comes to going Greek, it’s better to be a guy.
