9 Reasons Why Your Rutgers Pride is Justified:

1. Rutgers is referred to as THE “Pride of New Jersey.” TCNJ who?

2. Not only does Rutgers have a rising global reputation, but it was also invited to join the Ivy League, and declined the invitation, proving we don’t need a title to be one of the best. Brains & brawn, bitches.

3. We’re the college town every student envisions. We’ve got the Grease Trucks, frisbee enthusiasts, and hell, even one of our campuses is named “College Ave.” It doesn’t get more collegiate.

4. It’s no secret Rutgers is a big school, and it’s also no secret that bigger IS better! We pack the stadiums for games, and plaster our giant scarlet R’s on our cars and clothing. It’s our state, you’re just living in it.

5. We get a top notch, affordable education at a university that’s been called the “#1 Party School.” This would be an oxymoron anywhere else, but for us it’s a normality.

6. We’re successful after graduating. And if you don’t believe it, watch an episode of The Sopranos or Sex & the City, starring James Gandolfini and Kristin Davis, OUR grads. If you’re more of a sports person, try an NFL game, we’ve got grads there too.

7. You like collegiate football? Cool, you’re welcome. (Ask a Princeton grad about it)

8. We didn’t settle for one campus type. We don’t need to go out of state to get a rural campus, and we don’t need to go to New York to get an urban campus atmosphere. We’ve got options.

9. (After all of this) It’s clear to see we’re the real #RU. Sorry Radford & Rowan.
