College Partying Do’s and Dont’s

You’ve heard it, everyone’s heard it: college kids party. There’s no secret behind it, except from maybe the cops. Not every college kid parties, but many do, and if you choose to be one of them, here are some helpful do’s and dont’s of the college party culture.

10) Don’t drink and drive.

I cannot fathom how important this is. It is dangerous, illegal, and morbid. Unfortunately it happens way too often. Most college parties are within walking distance anyway. If there is a party where you need to be driven, take turns being the designated driver rather than the designated drinker, or call an Uber, they’re usually pretty cheap. Some college campuses may have a free night ride system where volunteers or employees drive college students to their destination.

9) Do stay with your friends.

It’s important to leave with the people you came with, and keep an eye on them during the party. You never know what can happen, and it is never a good idea to split up. Always make sure your friends are around you and have their phones on them. Check in with each other throughout the night, and make sure nobody accidentally wanders off.

8) Don’t drink on an empty stomach.

Not only is this toxic for your stomach lining, but it also enhances the drunken alcoholic effect much more rapidly. Having no food in your stomach will increase the absorption of alcohol in your bloodstream. Don’t be afraid to snack at the party, or go out to eat beforehand. Water is also crucial throughout the night.
