During the winter, even after the holidays, businesses are on the look out for students on break. Especially for students staying near Hofstra, Roosevelt Field Mall is a gold mine of opportunities.
4. Look for odd jobs.
As Hofstra students, it seems like we are always working towards are next project. Looking for odd jobs is a great way to take advantage of this period of time where we have little work to do.
3. Help your parents out with housework.
While we are at school we do our own laundry, make/buy our own food, and take care of ourselves. When we get home for break it makes us appreciate how much our parents have done for us. That being said, there is still so much they are doing that we could help them out with.
2. Start a personal project.
It can be a routine, like getting up to run every day, or a project, like the website you’ve been meaning to build for your portfolio. Either way, winter break offers us a time to explore our individual goals.
1. Prepare for next semester.
While the time we have off now seems excessive, when classes finally start we’ll be wishing it was the beginning of January. Starting projects or required reading can save us a lot of future stress.
