How To Be The Classmate Everybody Likes (4)

5. Respond to emails.

If a classmate emails you for notes or the reading assignment you were supposed to do, it’s polite to respond.  It’s tempting to ignore the email and hope someone else will give them what they’re looking for, but why not you?  You’re trying to get everyone to like you, after all.

4. Answer questions.

If your classmate needs help understanding something, help them out!

3. Share notes.

Towards the end of the semester or before a test, someone always comes looking for class notes that they missed.  Even though you may not like turning over the fruits of your labor to someone who didn’t bother taking notes, it’s an easy way to get in someone’s good graces and gain a reputation for being helpful.

2. Listen to others.

When making smalltalk with your classmates, you’re trying to get to know them, so listen to what they’re saying and don’t just talk about yourself.

1. Be courteous.

Lend a pen to someone in need, scoot over to make room for someone to sit, offer a piece of gum, and just be a nice person.
