How To Be The Classmate Everybody Likes (3)

9. Say hi when you run into classmates randomly.

Don’t shrink away and hope they don’t notice you.  Being personable is a crucial part of being likable.

8. Ask how they’re doing and actually mean it.

This goes hand-in-hand with being genuine.  It’s customary to say “how are you” when you greet someone, but don’t just say it out of habit and then tune out when they respond.  That’s rude, and it’s not going to make you friends.

7. Let other classmates shine.

Even if you know the answer to the professor’s question or you have something really clever you want to share, give your other classmates a chance.

6. Remember names.

This is one of the easiest ways to make people like you.  Make an effort to learn everyone’s names and call them by their name when you speak to them.
