6. I NEED MONEY

We work because we need money to pay bills, debt, and go out. If I am cut too early, what was the point of coming in — my day is ruined anyway!

5. That moment when a large party walks in.

Do I run, or do I hide? Large parties equal more sales and more tips, but also lots of sweat and tears (well, hopefully no tears though!). Either every server will be fighting to take the party, or nobody will want it. There is really no in between.

4. Please do not tell me they are coming in five minutes before we close.

Chances are, the closing servers want to go home, or they have plans after work. Yes, we close at 11, but is it really necessary to come in at 10:55 when the kitchen is closing and everybody is getting ready to leave? Trust me, we want the business, but you could have came in like, I don’t know, a half hour earlier?
