Stage 3: Spreading out…kind of.
This is when you realize that the itty bitty circular tables at Starbucks aren’t exactly ideal for this kind of work. It has room for your laptop, but not to spread out your notes and textbook or to write anything. So, you spread out as much as you can and spend the next several minutes shuffling through your supplies until you find an arrangement that works decently well.
Stage 4: Distraction.
Why is everyone at Starbucks so freaking noisy? People are laughing obnoxiously loud, their kids are running around, and those damn milk steaming machines sound like a jet taking off. It’s weird because you’ve been to Starbucks many times before, but you’re only now noticing how it sounds like a high school gym during a basketball game.
