Why An On-Campus Job Is Actually Amazing (3)

2.You get to work with people who are students just like you.

Meaning they understand the struggle that comes along with being a student at your school. And typically if you and another student are both hired by the same department, you normally have some similar interests. Or at the very least you are both enrolled at the same school so you can normally figure out something to talk about thus make new friends.

1. It pays better.

All college kids would love to have some extra cash, which is normally why we start the job search to begin with. Minimum wage right now is seven dollars and twenty-five cents. Which is likely how much you would be getting paid working off-campus somewhere. Fellowships or work studies are normally funded through grants or alumni investments meaning they can pay you as much as the grant will allow them to.

So next time you are looking at the on-campus job listings posted around campus consider applying for one. They aren’t as bad as you think they are from the outside and who knows you could make some of the best memories while getting paid. Sounds like a pretty great deal to me.
