“in terms of stand-alone campaign stories this year [2015,] it’s been 234 minutes for Trump, compared to 10 minutes for Sanders. And at ABC World News Tonight, it’s been 81 minutes for Trump and less than one minute for Sanders.”
Channels like Fox News, MSNBC, and ABC News have only recently stopped ignoring Bernie Sanders rise to popularity. Company heads like Rupert Murdoch are known for spinning the news to shed a better light on candidates they support; and it seems that, for the most part, none of the wealthy media moguls support the Socialist Bernie Sanders.
3. The Establishment Itself Is Afraid Of Him
Late last year, the Democratic National Committee suspended Bernie Sanders access to a critical database after members of his staff viewed Hillary Clinton’s propitiatory information when a computer glitch made it briefly available. Sanders was quick to file a lawsuit, and the DNC backed down. On top of suspending Bernie from the database, the DNC also immediately passed the story on to the media, rather than handling it internally. “By their action, the leadership of the Democratic National Committee is now actively attempting to undermine our campaign…This is unacceptable. Individual leaders of the DNC can support Hillary Clinton in any way they want, but they are not going to sabotage our campaign—one of the strongest grassroots campaigns in modern history.” said Sanders’ campaign manager, Jeff Weaver.
