9.) Our Own Planetarium
When you get tired of looking at the real stars at Eagle Lake, you can make your way to Moreheads own planetarium to see fake ones! Chances are, if you live in Kentucky, the planetarium was your first experience with MSU. Every now and then it is still a fun bit of campus to check out, just for old time’s sake…and light shows.
8.) And Our Own Piece of Space
Much further away from campus than our fake space scape, lies our own little piece of Moehead in the sky. Our campus had the privilege of building a cereal box sized lunar orbiter that NASA actually sent into space!
7.) Amazing Sports Teams
The various sports teams at MSU have earned some much deserved attention. Our basketball team has seen some victories in the NCAA tournaments, our football team is the only public university in the Pioneer Football League, and between our coed and all-girl cheerleading squads we have won 23 national championships and 10 national titles. Go Eagles!
