Eat that cookie after dinner. Finish your plate of fries. Don’t deprive yourself of some of life’s finest pleasures just because you think they’ll make you fat.
13. There will always be someone, somewhere, who will surpass you in every aspect.
Someone out there will always be smarter, more talented, or have a better personality than you, but that doesn’t mean you’re dumb, untalented, or a bad person. We have to accept the fact that there are extraordinary people out there. In one way or another, you probably are one of those people. Even the world’s best, fictional neurosurgeon felt that he wasn’t good enough at one point or another.
12. What you’re sad about now most likely won’t matter in a year.
Think back to the year in your life that was the most saddening, stressful, or problematic. Try and remember every single thing from that year that went wrong and made you question your happiness. Can’t quite remember, can you? What you’re going through now will pass too. If it’s not something so heartbreaking that it’ll still matter at this time next year, let it go and let it make you better.
