Crash and Burn: Suicide From Multiple Perspectives (3)

Needless to say, Stephen was a jock, and all of the girls managed to love him. He was a sensitive guy, but he didn’t like to show it. One day he threw us all a curve ball and told us he was going into the military. At the time, he was in love with a girl named Tracy. He left thinking that everything would resume to normal when he returned. Right before he came home, he received a letter from Tracy explaining that she found another guy shortly after he left. He was now the heart broken one. He came home and was in a very bad way because he was in love with this girl so much; he thought that she was the one. Laney said from the moment Stephen was born that she would protect him. Even though they were so much older, she still kept this promise. She changed his negative perspective on the world and taught him to alter his thoughts into positive ones; while this was easier said than done, they worked on it. Eventually, Stephen understood that he was not meant to be with her and that everything happens for a reason. He had an epiphany that the girl didn’t deserve a guy like him. He moved on eventually and found a girl who appreciated him for him. We were all so worried about him, but he made it through. Time is the biggest healer to all pain.

Yes, they got married and went off and had their own lives and we had five grandchildren: Casey, Hannah, Gregory, Jason, and Marissa. We loved them and cherished them.

While my life seemed spotless from the outside, it was never so easy. Sure we had our problems, but doesn’t everybody to some extent? Sometimes we all feel inferior and alone in the world, but eventually, those feelings pass as time goes on. Life wasn’t just peachy. Life had its ups and downs. But, in the long run, life was pretty awesome and certainly worth living. Once everything came together, everything made sense. It took a while, but it happened. Life is such a beautiful thing.
