6. Philanthropy It’s not just about car washes and bake sales. Philanthropy is a key part of being a member of Greek Life. It’s a way to give back to your community and do some good for the world. Each fraternity and sorority has a designated philanthropic cause that they raise money for. For example Delta Gamma’s national philanthropic cause is Service for Sight. Some fraternities and sororities also have a local cause that they raise money for, such as the Epsilon Kappa chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma at Hofstra University. They raise money by hosting an annual event called Miles for Milan in honor of one of their sisters who passed away in a car crash a few years ago.
