6. California State University Chico
Matthew Carrington was a pledge for the Chi Tau fraternity in 2005. Water was poured on him, as he was forced to do calisthenics on one foot and drinking multiple gallons of cold water, all while strong fans blew on him. Carrington collapsed from hypothermia and swelling of the brain, and died two hours later from water intoxication.
5. Dartmouth College
In 2012, it was claimed that fraternity pledges had to swim in a kiddie pool filled with feces, semen, and rotten food. After that, they were to eat vomit omelettes, and chug vinegar and beer. How appetizing!
4. Alfred University
Chuck Stevens became victim to hazing while rushing for the Klan Alpine fraternity in 1978. He awoke one night and was stripped down to his underwear, and was forced to drink a considerable amount of alcohol while locked in the trunk of a car. He was dropped off at his dorm, but the alcohol and cold temperatures filled his lungs with fluid. He died in the emergency room the same day.
