“New Year means a brand new me!” If only that were the case. New Year’s certainly is a new opportunity to have a fresh start but it doesn’t mean that the exports from the previous years just disappear. Instead you can resolve to improve on past mistakes and become better. Here’s a few options to get you started.
Not Watching Netflix EVERY Weekend
Not watching House of Cards or even Orange is the New Black for a day or so won’t be the end of the word
Show Up to Every Class
This one is going to take an incredible amount of motivation I know, but your education is worth it. In the case that you are some sort of unicorn that goes to every single class already, you can try…
Not Falling Asleep in Any Classes
Even that class where the professor doesn’t do anything outside of reading off of his own powerpoint slides that are available on the class page
Work Out Twice a Week
Your health shouldn’t be a negotiable aspect of your daily life. It’s good to stay as healthy as possible and working out helps.
Walk as Much as Possible
Even if you live on the 15th floor, walking down the stairs as that big a deal as walking up them. Plus it will make your calves look amazing.
Finish Your Laundry on Time
I’m guilty of it too. Just throwing the warm clothes on the bed is leagues easier than folding and putting them away while it’s still warm
Read a Book
A book other than the ones assigned for class, Fifty Shades of Grey, or the student handbook.
Eat a Salad
Because the week’s worth of french fries, pizza, and chinese will come back to haunt you
Have Drinks with a Professor
Professor’s are people too. You’d be surprised how much you’ll get to know them if you spend time with them outside of an academic setting
Clean Up Your Social Media
Having those pictures of that one time you got to drunk to function isn’t a great thing to have when employers start searching
